What it is
What Maintenance Detail does for your vehicle.
A maintenance detail is purpose-built to preserve and extend a ceramic coating or paint protection film. It is not a basic wash. It removes embedded contaminants that ordinary washing cannot, restores the hydrophobic behavior of the surface, and includes an inspection of the protection itself.
The wash and decontamination steps use Manetts products — the hand-blended Dallas car-care line we use — chosen because the right chemistry keeps a coating performing instead of stripping it.
It is also how a coating warranty stays in force. Our 3 and 5-year coating packages require an inspection schedule at our studio. Miss it, and the warranty steps down. Keep it, and the coverage you paid for stays valid for its full term.
Why it matters
What Maintenance delivers.
-
Decontamination
Lifts bonded contaminants that sit on the coating and dull its performance over time.
-
Hydrophobics restored
Brings back the water-beading, self-cleaning behavior of a fresh coating.
-
Coating inspection
We check the protection for any area that needs attention and address it early.
-
Warranty kept valid
Satisfies the annual coating inspection requirement so your protection warranty stays in force.
How it works
Four steps. One threshold.
-
Vehicle inspection
We read your paint, document its condition, and walk you through exactly what the work will include — nothing padded, nothing assumed.
-
Surface preparation
Decontamination, clay treatment and a thorough wash bring the surface genuinely clean before a single product goes near it.
-
Maintenance Detail service
Your maintenance detail is carried out with Manetts products — decontamination, surface prep and hand finishing — to the threshold every Protektd vehicle is held to.
-
Final inspection
Every panel is checked against one standard. If anything falls short of it, the vehicle goes back on the bench before it goes back to you.
The 100% standard
The point of a maintenance detail is longevity, so we treat it with the same care as the original install. We inspect, we document, and we tell you honestly what your protection needs, and what it does not. We will also remind you when your next inspection is due, so the warranty never lapses by accident.

Maintenance Detail, answered.
Do I need maintenance details if I have ceramic coating?
Yes. Ceramic coating maintenance details clean off embedded contaminants that regular washing can't remove, inspect the coating for defects, and restore its hydrophobic performance — maintaining the protection you already have and keeping warranty coverage in force.
How often should I schedule maintenance details?
Most coated vehicles benefit from a maintenance detail every 6–12 months, and warranted coatings carry their own inspection schedule. We'll remind you when it's time so your coverage never lapses.
